Dear Parents and Guardians, Trafford Middle School would like to host a Career Cafe’ once a month from October through April and we are inviting you to be a speaker. Career Cafe’ is an opportunity for students in grades 6-8 to meet individuals from the community and learn about their careers. The speakers will visit the school on a Friday (dates and times to be determined) and stay for approximately 90 minutes (2- half hour lunches with about 15 minutes in between lunches, speaking to about 20-25 students each lunch period). Speakers can share how they became interested in their career, what education/training they needed, what they do in a typical day at their job, and any advice to students considering a job in their field. Speakers are encouraged to bring props, actual items they use in their job, and/or giveaways with their company logos!! If you are interested in being a speaker, please complete the bottom of this paper and send it to school with your child or email it to the school counselor at mcgrawm@penntrafford.org . SAVE THE DATE SCHEDULE Tuesday, March 10 Tuesday, April 21 HOMEWORK CLUB HW Club - Every Tuesday -Thursday, 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Students are to report directly to the library at 3pm and will be required to sign in. Students are required to have school work to complete in order to stay at HW club. Please arrange to have your child picked up from HW Club outside of the main entrance at 4pm promptly. HW club is not to be used for a delayed pick up time of your child. Parents must submit a one time permission slip for their child to stay. TMS - HOME SPORTING EVENTS Any student wishing to stay after school for a home sporting event must have a signed permission slip for that game. Students are to follow all school rules and be respectful spectators during the games. Permission slips are in the office for students. The Student Assistance Program is designed to provide various services to meet your child’s social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. The primary goal of the Student Assistance Program is to identify students at risk and help those students to overcome barriers in order for them to be successful in their everyday lives.
